What makes my classes different?
I offer the opportunity to carry two sessions over to the next term on my evening sessions if you have to cancel for any reason providing 24hrs notice is given. This means you don’t loose your class fee for that session. I also offer the flexibility to swap your classes around so if you can’t make your regular day you can swap to another day providing there is space.
I have been teaching Pilates for over 4 years and have gained much experience with back and joint problems, sciatica, pre and post-natal Pilates – and know how to adapt the exercise to suit each individual.
All my classes are mixed ability with the majority being beginners and intermediates apart from the Mother and Baby classes where the exercises are tailored specifically for Post-natal recovery.
Don’t be worried by that if you are new to Pilates as I will ask you to carry out a 1-2-1 session with me first, so you understand the terminology. I will also show you how to execute some exercises so when you come into class you won’t feel lost.
I also have considerable experience with pre and post-natal women and adapt the exercises to suit the trimester. I will keep a close eye on your postural changes and make you aware of them as the curving of your lower back and rounding of your shoulders can put undue stress on your joints and cause back aches through pregnancy. I will check for diastasis recti, which is the splitting of the abdominals, which can happen in the third trimester and advise you on correct sitting and lying positions.
I don’t believe in cramming people into a group Pilates session so I restrict the class participants to a maximum of 12 people – that way I can keep a close eye on everyone and give more attention to those who require it.
